15 years – Environmental Specialist for Iowa Department of Natural Resources
- Conducted compliance inspections and generated reports of NPDES permitted facilities
- Investigated complaints to determine if violations of Iowa Administrative Rules had occurred
- Developed referral packages for DNR’s legal section which outlined violations, culpability and assessing fines
- Compiled inspection and compliance records for reports for the State of Iowa and the USEPA
- Worked with USEPA staff on data collection and quality from the State of Iowa
- Participated in internal department committees that developed data collection software used
in development of databases - Trained staff and served as point of contact for databases after deployment
5 years – Chemist/Supervisor for City of Iowa City Wastewater Treatment Plant and Landfill
- Conducted compliance analysis for the municipal wastewater treatment plant and city owned landfill
- Provided oversight for the collection and analysis of routine and compliance parameters for facilities
- Managed the participation in USEPA’s DMR-QA program which demonstrates competence in the laboratory data
